Elfriede Moser is Director-General for Forestry and Sustainability at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management. In 1989, she joined the Forest Technology and Silviculture Department at the Upper Austrian State Forestry Directorate. Elfriede Moser took over the management of a District Forestry Inspectorate in 2010. In 2016, she became the first female Director of the State Forest Service in Upper Austria and was responsible for around 500,000 hectares of forest. Since December 2023, she is Director-General for Forestry and Sustainability at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management. She holds a degree of Forestry and Wood Management from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna.
