The conference INTERPRAEVENT 2024 will take place at the former Vienna imperial palace Hofburg.
(Location at Google Maps)
The Hofburg was the imperial residence of the Habsburg family from the 13th century until 1918, and it was therefore the scene for politics, culture and arts of world history. Today it is the official residence of Austria’s president and a venue for conferences and events. Moreover, the Hofburg hosts various museums like the Sisi museum, the Imperial Treasury, the Spanish Riding School, the Weltmuseum and the National Library with its ceremonial hall.
The first conference, which took place at the Hofburg, was the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 1958. Since then, the Hofburg has been a location where modern history was written and it is therefore the perfect venue to discuss future challenges in natural hazard management.
The access to INTERPRAEVENT 2024 is through the “Schweizerhof” (The Swiss Court) and the entrance “Botschafterstiege” (Ambassador Stairway).
